Hair Vitals ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Hair Vitals mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (when you create an account)
• Authentication credentials managed through Firebase Authentication or Sign in with Apple

Health & Survey Data

• Responses to our onboarding questionnaire, including age, gender, hair loss symptoms, affected areas, family history, stress level, emotional impact, and treatment history
• Treatment reminders you create (medication name, schedule, timezone)
• Treatment adherence logs (doses taken, skipped, or missed)

Photos

• Scalp and hair photographs you take or upload for AI analysis (front, top, left, right, and back angles)
• Baseline photo references stored locally on your device so future photos can be matched against your saved photo guides

AI Analysis Results

• Hair score, Norwood/Ludwig classification, confidence level, observations, and attribute scores generated from your photos

Subscription & Payment Data

• Subscription status and entitlement information processed through RevenueCat
• We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.

Usage & Analytics Data

• App usage events (screens viewed, features used, onboarding progress) collected through PostHog
• App events such as registration, checkout, subscription, and purchase events may be shared with Meta to measure advertising attribution and improve ad campaign performance, subject to your device permissions and settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI-powered hair analysis based on your photos
• To track your hair health progress over time
• To send treatment reminders you configure
• To manage your account and subscription
• To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics
• To measure advertising performance and show more relevant ads, where permitted by your device settings and applicable law

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Hair Vitals:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication and user management
• Anthropic — AI-powered hair photo analysis
• RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management
• PostHog — anonymized product analytics
• Meta — app event measurement and advertising attribution
• Supabase — secure database hosting
• Apple — App Store payment processing and Sign in with Apple

We require third-party service providers that process user data for Hair Vitals to protect that data with the same or equal level of protection described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable App Store guidelines. Each service also processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

4. Photo Data

Your photos are stored on your device as baseline and progress references for future photo matching. When you request AI analysis, your photos and relevant scan details are transmitted securely to our servers and to Anthropic, our third-party AI analysis provider, solely to generate your hair analysis. The current service stores analysis results with your account; it does not use your photos for advertising or sell your photos to third parties.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access-controlled databases. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data and analysis results for as long as your account is active. Baseline photo references stored on your device can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and analysis results within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

Hair Vitals is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
